Blue Zones®️

Can you imagine living a healthy, vital life beyond age 100? Join the six-week lifestyle campaign that is based upon factors common to centenarians all over the world who are leading happy, healthy lives.

What are Blue Zones®️?

Blue Zones are regions of the world where Dan Buettner claims people live much longer than average. The term first appeared in his November 2005 National Geographic magazine cover story, “The Secrets of a Long Life”. Buettner identified five regions as “Blue Zones”, and has written a book, “The Blue Zones: 9 Lessons for Living Longer”. Participants will not be required to read the book.

How does the Life in the Blue Zone®️ campaign work?

Each week you are provided a list of activities to try that line up with the Power 9®️, the nine principles common to life in the Blue Zones®️. You’ll plan to do one new activity per day for six weeks, journaling your progress and discussing your experiences with others during our weekly Zoom calls. You will work toward accomplishing 10,000 steps per day(or step equivalent) and will turn in your count at week’s end, Saturday night. One goal of the program is to prepare five Blue Zone®️ meals each week (recipes provided on the Blue Zone®️ website). A private Facebook page is set up for further accountability, learning and motivation. Group Coaching will occur Monday evenings, 7-8 pm on the following dates: October 14, 21, 28, November 4, 11 & 18.
